Walt Lotspeich is the President of O/G Trust Services and he is a subject matter expert on trust operations and fiduciary unique asset management. With more than two decades of experience in trust operations, wealth management, and financial technology, Walt brings a rare combination of institutional trust expertise and deep knowledge of oil and gas mineral assets to every client engagement.

Walt began his career in trust operations, building foundational expertise in back-office processes, client servicing, and compliance before moving into business development and technology leadership roles across the financial services industry. Prior to joining O/G Trust Services, he served in leadership roles at The Trust Company of the South and Proxytrust, developing a track record of building scalable, client-centered solutions for institutional fiduciaries.

As a Certified Mineral Manager (CMM) — a designation earned through the National Association of Royalty Owners (NARO) — Walt is one of a small number of professionals who has practical experience in both fiduciary services and mineral asset management. He applies that dual expertise daily, helping trust companies, family offices, and foundations navigate the operational and compliance demands of managing mineral interests and real estate assets.

Walt is a frequent speaker and podcast guest on topics including mineral asset generational planning, OCC Reg 9 compliance for mineral assets, and the role of technology in modern fiduciary practice.  He is originally from Parksley, VA and is a proud alumnus of Elon University.  When he is not thinking about how to gain efficiencies at work, Walt enjoys sailing, watching sports and listening to live music.
